The IDS Spring Book Fair begins on Sunday, May 13, at Barnes & Noble. The Warriors’ Pride
Chorus will perform at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday, May 16, 2007, for Primary Night. REMEMBER
to purchase SCRIP for your child so that they may purchase books at Barnes & Noble (9% of the
SCRIP goes directly back to IDS).
WHY: To raise funds that go directly to supporting the IDS Laney Library/Media Center, while
providing an opportunity to purchase books for personal reading pleasure and summer reading
requirements.
IMPORTANT BOOK FAIR INFORMATION…
1. The IDS Laney Library/Media Center receives 25% of the sales from the book fair. All items sold
throughout the store will count towards our book fair total except café consumables.
2. Summer Reading lists will be sent in the May 10th, Thursday folder. Summer reading titles will be
available at the Book Fair.
3. Look for the Wish List table. Your child may donate books to his/her teachers and/or the Laney
Library/Media center. A bookplate will be placed in each book in recognition of the donation.
4. Primary students (Pre-K3 - 2) will have a special “Primary Night” on Wednesday, May 16th, from 3:30 -
7:00 p.m. The Warriors’ Pride Chorus will honor us with a performance at 6:00 p.m. on Primary Night.
Several of our very own IDS teachers will be there to read their favorite stories. There will be a surprise
storybook character at the event for everyone’s entertainment.
5. Students in grades 3 - 8 will travel to the book fair on class field trips. Permission slips and trip
schedules are included in this week’s Thursday folder.
6. Remember you may PURCHASE SCRIP in advance to use at the book fair. Look for the SCRIP order
form in today’s Thursday folder.
7. Look for the IDS register! Our sales are totaled through this register only!! Please plan to shop at
the IDS Spring Book Fair!
